• Clindamycin Phosphate and Benzoyl Peroxide Gel, 1.2%/2.5% is a prescription medicine used in the topical treatment of inflammatory acne vulgaris in people 12 years and older.

Who should not use Clindamycin Phosphate and Benzoyl Peroxide Gel, 1.2%/2.5%?

• People with a history of colitis, regional enteritis, or severe diarrhea with past antibiotic use.
• People with a history of severe itching, swelling, trouble breathing, or any other allergic reaction to with clindamycin, benzoyl peroxide, any components of the formulation, or lincomycin. 

What should I tell my doctor before using Clindamycin Phosphate and Benzoyl Peroxide Gel, 1.2%/2.5%?

• Tell your doctor if you are taking neuromuscular blocking agents.
• Tell your doctor about all the medicines and skin products you use, especially if you will have surgery with general anesthesia. Clindamycin can affect how certain medicines work when used in general anesthesia.
• Tell your doctor if you have any other skin problems or are using additional topical acne therapies. 
• Talk to your doctor if you are using any product containing erythromycin.
• Talk to your doctor if you are pregnant, nursing, or will nurse your unborn baby.

How should I use Clindamycin Phosphate and Benzoyl Peroxide Gel, 1.2%/2.5%?

• Use Clindamycin Phosphate and Benzoyl Peroxide Gel, 1.2%/2.5% only as directed by your doctor. 
• Do not use in your mouth, eyes, or vagina.

What should I avoid when using Clindamycin Phosphate and Benzoyl Peroxide Gel, 1.2%/2.5%?

• Avoid exposure to sunlight and sunlamps and wear sunscreen when sun exposure cannot be avoided.
• Avoid getting Clindamycin Phosphate and Benzoyl Peroxide Gel, 1.2%/5% in your hair or on colored fabric, as it may bleach hair or colored fabric.

What are the most common side effects associated with Clindamycin Phosphate and Benzoyl Peroxide Gel, 1.2%/2.5%?

• The most common side effects are skin reddening, scaling, itching, burning, and stinging. 

What are other possible side effects associated with Clindamycin Phosphate and Benzoyl Peroxide Gel, 1.2%/2.5%?

• Clindamycin can cause serious side effects, including severe colitis, which may result in death, diarrhea, and bloody diarrhea.  Stop use and call your doctor if stomach cramps or severe diarrhea occurs. 
• Allergic reaction may occur.  Stop use and call your doctor if any of severe itching, swelling, trouble breathing, or any other allergic reaction symptoms occur.
