- Use Erythromycin Topical Solution USP, 2% only as directed by your doctor.
- Erythromycin Topical Solution USP, 2% is for topical use only; do not use in your eyes, nose, or mouth.
What are the most common side effects associated with Erythromycin Topical Solution USP, 2%?
- The most common side effects observed in clinical trials were occasional peeling, dryness, itching, erythema, and oiliness.
What are other possible side effects associated with Erythromycin Topical Solution USP, 2%?
- Pseudomembranous colitis, the severity of which ranges from mild to life-threatening, is a serious side effect that may occur. Pseudomembranous colitis may cause diarrhea. Report any diarrhea to your doctor.
- Overgrowth of antibiotic-resistant organisms can occur. Discontinue use and contact your doctor.
